TN21 Series TurboNFC IC
The TN21 series ICs integrate the ISO14443A-compatible NFC interface that utilizes Chivotech’s TurboNFC technology, which provides standard NFC communication and storage capabilities for universal dual-port tags, as well as industry-leading NFC wireless power reception capabilities.TN21 ICs offer industry-leading wireless power reception of up to 300mW when using typical NFC-enabled smartphones. The TN21’s ultra-high energy reception capabilities greatly expand the horizon of NFC applications. Many previously battery-powered applications, such as applications invloving motors, backlit LCDs, MCUs, and DSPs that run face or fingerprint recognition algorithms, can be passively powered by TN21 ICs.
In addition, TurboNFC’s integrated energy management capabilities automatically manage energy harvesting, avoiding the situation where energy harvesting collapses s NFC energy fields and causes communication instability. The TN21 series maintains high-performance, reliable NFC communication while performing high-power energy recpetion.
In addition to the traditional card simulation mode, it also supports the versatile pass-through mode, which enables applications such as smart cards to meet the data transmission needs in most cases.
Some ICs in the TN21 line integrates a ARM Cortex-M0 core that is available for user applications.Leveraging the SDK provided freely by Chivotech, users can implement applications running on the MCU swiftly and inexpensively, enabling the design of a single-chip solution. Some ICs also feature the latest omnidirectional antenna technology, enabling the wide-area energy reception and communication functions withou dead spots.
The TN21 series has a high-speed I2C as a data transmission interface, with EEPROM and RAM inside to store data. The TN21 series requires only a small number of external components to operate. Chivotech provides TN21 Evaluation Kit (TN2115sEVK) to customers who would like to evaluate or develop solution based on our ICs. Please contact Chivotech sales to purchase.
